Koh Phangan Full Moon Party 2026 — Ferries, Where to Stay & Safety
Plan the classic Haad Rin beach night the smart way: the fastest ferries from Samui and Surat Thani, where to base yourself on the island, 2026 dates and entry timings, safety tips, and how to leave for Samui or Koh Tao the morning after.
How to Get There
Koh Samui ↔ Koh Phangan
Fast ferries run throughout the day between Samui (Bangrak/Big Buddha, Maenam, Nathon) and Thong Sala on Koh Phangan. From Thong Sala it’s a 15–25 minute taxi to Haad Rin.
Last boats before the party fill up fast; first boats back to Samui after sunrise are crowded — book early.
Surat Thani → Samui → Phangan
Flying or busing into Surat Thani? Take a combined bus+ferry to Koh Samui, then hop a Samui–Phangan ferry. Total travel time is typically 3.5–5.5 hours depending on connections.
Where to Stay
Haad Rin (Party Zone)
- Steps from the beach — zero commute to/from the party.
- Loud until morning; minimum stays and surge pricing common.
- Book early; bring earplugs; secure your room and valuables.
Quieter Beaches (Sleep Well)
- Baan Tai / Thong Sala — central and convenient taxis (15–25 min).
- North & West: Haad Yao, Haad Salad, Mae Haad — calm seas, sunsets.
- Family/retreat: Sri Thanu, Chaloklum — peaceful, yoga/vegan cafés.
Tickets & Timings
- Entry wristbands are sold at checkpoints in Haad Rin in the early evening. Keep the band visible and intact for re-entry.
- When it starts: Wristbands from ~18:00; DJs from ~20:00; peak 23:00–03:00; many venues go until sunrise.
- Transport: Taxis queue through the night. Expect wait times after 02:00; agree fares before riding.

Safety Tips
🎒 Bags & Valuables
Use a zipped, cross-body bag. Keep phones and wallets front-facing and avoid back pockets.
💧 Hydration
Alternate drinks with water. Heat + dancing + alcohol dehydrate fast.
👟 Footwear
Wear closed shoes — broken glass and hot sand are common.
🌊 Ocean Safety
Avoid swimming at night; currents and hidden hazards are real after dark.
🚕 Getting Home
Use licensed taxis or pre-arranged transfers. Agree the fare before you ride; share rides to save.
After-Party Boat Options
Morning boats start soon after sunrise. Expect queues on party dates — arrive early at Thong Sala Pier and book ahead when you can.
