How much does a private driver cost for a day in Bali?

A full day with a private driver costs IDR 950,000–1,200,000 (~$59–75) for up to 4 passengers, — one all-in rate per day (max 10 hours). That is all-in: fuel, parking, tolls and the driver's meal are included, and there is no per-kilometre meter running while you explore.

How many days do you need?

• One day (up to 10h) — one destination or a compact loop: Tanah Lot at sunset, Uluwatu + Kecak fire dance, Ubud highlights (Tegallalang + Tirta Empul).
• Multi-day — the classic Bali day trip: Mount Batur sunrise, the east loop (Sidemen, Tirta Gangga, Lempuyang), or a Ubud-to-Uluwatu transfer-tour.
• Multi-day — fixed all-in quote, and you keep the same driver for the whole trip. Good for island loops or a relaxed east-Java extension.

Most travellers book a full day — the difference is only ~IDR 150K (~$9) and you never feel rushed at the sunset stops.

What does "all-in" actually include?

Fuel, parking, tolls and the driver's own meal. The price you agree on WhatsApp is the price you pay — no surge pricing, no "extra for air conditioning", no surprise per-hour overages. If your itinerary runs past the booked hours, the extra hour is quoted and agreed before the trip, not discovered afterwards.

Sample full-day itinerary: the classic south loop

1. 8:00 AM — pickup from your hotel or villa.
2. 9:30 AM — Tegalalang rice terraces before the tour buses arrive.
3. 11:30 AM — Tirta Empul water temple.
4. 1:00 PM — lunch at a local warung your driver recommends.
5. 3:30 PM — Uluwatu temple at golden hour, then the Kecak fire dance at sunset.
6. 7:30 PM — dinner in Jimbaran or drop-off back at your hotel.

BaliGoat no longer offers a 6-hour half-day tier — we run 10-hour days only, and the price is the same whether you use all 10 hours or finish early. That is not a trick: a 6-hour window forces you to choose between a temple morning and an Uluwatu sunset, while the full 10 hours lets you do both in one relaxed day. In practice our guests who booked a half-day almost always wished they had booked the full day once they saw how much Bali traffic eats into a short window.

You get the driver and the car for the whole day — one all-in rate from IDR 950,000 for a Compact 4-seater (SUV IDR 1.2M, Family MPV IDR 1.8M), covering fuel, parking and the driver's meal. Use 4 hours or use the full 10 — the price does not change, and there is no penalty for wrapping up early.
